Carburetor and ignition tuning in Lakeland
Rough idle, hesitation or hard starting? We look at fuel and spark together before touching either.

A carbureted engine runs right when fuel and spark agree. We tune carburetors and set ignition timing for classic and performance vehicles, and we look at both before touching either.
A rough idle needs a diagnosis
A stumble, a hard start or a fuel smell does not prove the carburetor is the problem. Vacuum leaks, ignition faults, fuel delivery and engine condition produce the same symptoms. We find the cause first.
The combination matters
A new carburetor sits on an engine that may also have a different intake, cam, ignition or exhaust. Original distributors, electronic conversions and aftermarket ignitions each need a different approach. Factory specs fit a factory engine; a modified one gets tuned to what it is.
What to tell us
- Year and model, and engine details
- Carburetor brand or number, and ignition type
- Modifications, and any recent timing changes
- Whether it acts up cold, warm, at idle or under load

Questions before you call
Does a rough idle mean I need a new carburetor?
Not necessarily. Fuel delivery, ignition, vacuum leaks and engine condition can all cause it.
Can you work on a modified engine?
Yes. Bring the build details so we know the combination before we start.
